From inside January through May, the count runs to June 1 of the same year — from New Year's Day it's exactly 151 days (30 remaining in January, then 28, 31, 30, 31, plus the 1st). From July onward, the next June 1 is in the following year, so mid-July sits around 320-plus days out. A leap year adds one day to any count that crosses February 29.
People usually ask this question two ways: 'how long until June' (school's out, weddings, PCS season) and 'how many days are left in June'. The status row answers the second: June always has 30 days, so on June 10 there are 20 left.

Common mistakes
- Counting to June 30 when you meant June 1 — 'days until June' targets the month's start, a 29-day difference.
- Forgetting the year rollover: in July, June is not next month, it's eleven months away.
- Adding a leap day when there isn't one — 2026 and 2027 are common years; the next Feb 29 is 2028.
- Confusing June 1 with the summer solstice (June 20-21), which is 19-20 days later.

Why does my count differ from a friend's by one day?
Endpoint conventions. This tool counts midnights between the dates, so June 1 from May 31 is 1 day. Tools that include both endpoints report one more.
Does a leap year change the count?
Only if February 29 sits between your date and June 1 — then the count is one day longer. Counting from July 2027 to June 2028 crosses Feb 29, 2028, for example.
