30 Minutes From Now Calculator
Set the clock to the time right now, add any number of minutes — 30 by default — and read the exact new time. It rolls past midnight correctly and shows the 24-hour version too.
Example: with Current hour 12 · Current minutes 0 · Current AM/PM PM · Minutes from now 30 → New time: 12:30 PM.

Clock arithmetic is base-60: add the minutes, carry each full 60 into the hour, and wrap the day at 24 hours. From 12:00 PM, 30 minutes lands on 12:30 PM; 45 minutes on 12:45 PM; 90 minutes on 1:30 PM. The wrap matters late at night: 11:45 PM + 30 minutes is 12:15 AM — tomorrow — and the calculator flags the day change instead of silently showing an ambiguous time.
Thirty minutes is half an hour — 1,800 seconds — the classic block for meetings, parking meters, and cooking timers. Because any whole number of minutes works, this also answers 45 mins from now, 20 minutes, or 6 hours (enter 360). Negative numbers run the clock backwards: −30 tells you what time it was half an hour ago.
How it’s calculated
The current time converts to minutes since midnight (12-hour clock: 12 AM = 0, 12 PM = 720). New time = (now + added minutes) mod 1,440, converted back to h:mm with AM/PM; the whole-day quotient marks the result as tomorrow or yesterday when the sum crosses midnight. For reference, 30 minutes = 0.5 hours = 1,800 seconds.

Common mistakes
- Adding 30 to the minute digits without carrying — 12:45 + 30 min is 1:15, not 12:75.
- Dropping the AM/PM flip at noon and midnight: 11:50 AM + 30 min is 12:20 PM.
- Forgetting the date changes past midnight — the result says tomorrow so you don't set an alarm for the wrong day.
Frequently asked questions
What time will it be in 30 minutes from now?
Add 30 to the minutes and carry any full hour: at 2:50, thirty minutes later is 3:20. The default example turns 12:00 PM into 12:30 PM.
What time is 45 mins from now?
Change the minutes-from-now field to 45. From 12:00 PM that’s 12:45 PM; from 11:30 PM it’s 12:15 AM tomorrow.
How long is 30 minutes?
Half an hour: 0.5 hours, or 1,800 seconds. On an analog clock the minute hand sweeps exactly half the dial.
Can it go backwards to 30 minutes ago?
Yes. Enter −30 and the calculator subtracts, wrapping to yesterday if needed: at 12:10 AM, thirty minutes ago was 11:40 PM.
